Corey and Will, married at The Honors Course

How excited we were to photograph Corey and Will's wedding! They are an amazingly fantastic couple, and I was additionally excited because it was at The Honors Course, just outside of Chattanooga. While I was growing up, to me The Honors was the pinnacle of premier amateur golf. It's where I first saw Phil Mickelson as an amateur and then a few years later, watched Tiger Woods win the National Collegiate Championships.

Oh, but yes, Corey and Will's wedding: WOW! It was absolutely beautiful! Morgan and her team from Soirees did an amazing job and everything ran flawlessly. And interestingly enough, it was only the fourth wedding that's ever taken place at The Honors in the club's 25-year existence.

The florals and overall decor was stunning. Avery Patten and her team put together a spectacular display of colors and created an enchanting background for the wedding and reception. Let's start with this collage of florals, taken earlier in the day during set-up.

Now, on to the wedding, with one of my favorite detail shots ever. :-)

Simply stunning.

Little George, working on his lose tooth as he waits for things to get started.

The scene as George watched and waited for Corey to come down the aisle.

Here she comes.

The handsome couple exchanges vows.

The sand ceremony.

The kiss.

We're married!!!

Who wouldn't enjoy photographing at The Honors? And especially with these guys!

The Magnolia Room: displaying the brilliant work of Avery Patten and the team from Soirees.

The first dance....I love the movement here and Corey's smile and Will's concentration.

Corey and her father.

Will's father and best man, Bill, and Becky. Have you ever seen two happier smiles?

Mr. Tyrone, "Super T", himself!

The Groom's cake. If you'll recall Corey and Will's e-session from a few weeks ago, you'll remember that Will has quite the fleet of John Deere tractors at the farm.

An amazing bar-tending performance by one of Will's closest friends.

Guest favors.

Waiting.

The beautiful, little, worn-out flowergirl.

Honeymoon!

That's all.

Thanks so much, Corey and Will, for letting us be a part of your special day. It was a beautiful experience on so many different levels. We wish you all the happiness in the world!

Congratulations mommy Janelle!!!

One of our favorite clients in the world, Janelle, emailed a few weeks ago and suggested that we schedule a quick maternity session. It was more challenging than either of us expected to coordinate our schedules, but we finally made it happen...and none too soon.

Yesterday she emailed to tell us that they were heading into the hospital that evening to have the baby. Always calm and cool, especially since she's done this twice before, Janelle seems to take everything in stride.

We haven't heard the results yet (I'm sure we're right at the top of their let-family-and-closest-friends-know-we-just-had-a-baby-list....hahaha). But even still, we wanted to say congratulations and we can't wait to meet your precious new little girl in a couple weeks.

Wow, your husband Martin is one lucky guy to be sharing life with four beautiful women. How fantastic!

Congratulations!

Amber and James, married in Cleveland

We were thrilled last week to photograph Amber and James's wedding in nearby Cleveland at Wesley Memorial and the Fillauer House and Barn. Amber and James are such a great couple and it's been a pleasure to get to know them over the past several months.

The first look...at the Fillauer House before the wedding ceremony. We really enjoyed doing this portrait session with them before the ceremony.

The wedding ceremony.

The Fillauer Barn.

The first dance.

Amber's grandmother floated across the dancefloor all evening long.

I loved these three little observers.

Amber wanted their honeymoon to be a surprise. So toward the end of the night, James made the announcement that they were going to Hawaii!

And then moments later, as everyone lined up for the send off, they came riding from behind the barn on their 4-Wheeler.

Thanks so much, guys, for letting us be a part of your special day. It was truly a pleasure! May God bless you as you begin your new life together.

Courtney's senior session

We've been thrilled since May to have our good friend Courtney assisting us at the studio. About a year ago he approached us about an internship opportunity. Little did he know that in between photo sessions and office work he'd be assisting me with sheetrock and painting and floor refinishing and all kinds of other less-than-glamorous tasks at the studio.

Anyhow, we've been talking about his senior session for a while now, and we were excited on Friday morning to finally do the session.

We drove up on the mountain in fog so thick that we could barely see in front of us. For about an hour we shot close-ups until finally the fog lifted just slightly. We determined it was best to just embrace it and go for the whole Scotland theme (unfortunately without golf), and the results were something that I'm quite pleased with.

And my two favorites...

Thanks, Courtney, for all your help at the studio. And thanks even more for your friendship. Congratulations on your upcoming graduation and we wish you the brightest future full of blessings!
